The Visibility Planner is all about raising your profile and visibility through the things you do focusing on 4 main areas: PR and Marketing (inc Social Media), Networking, Presenting and Writing. For the 2020 A to Z Challenge we decided to focus on one of these aspects – writing! As the world continues to go into lock-down due to Covid-19, it is the perfect time to work on raising your visibility through your writing as you can do it from the comfort of your home.
J is for… Jargon
While you may be using your writing to demonstrate expertise it is important not to overload your writing with jargon. Keep it as simple as possible.
Yes, you can use technical language where the context requires it. However, is it important that this is done in an accessible way and tailored for your audience. Make it relevant and easy to understand.

Good advice, it’s easy to forget visitors are not always aware of the technical vocabulary. In the quilting world, we use words as “flimsy”, “squirrels”, “UFO” which don’t mean what you think ;))
