A to Z Challenge: S is for… Social Media
The Visibility Planner is all about raising your profile and visibility through the things you do focusing on 4 main areas: PR and Marketing (inc Social Media), Networking, Presenting and Writing. For the 2020 A to Z Challenge we decided to focus on one of these aspects – writing! As the world continues to go into lock-down due to Covid-19, it is the perfect time to work on raising your visibility through your writing as you can do it from the comfort of your home.
S is for… Social Media
Social media can be a great way to tell more stories and share insights into your brand and business and give it some personality. Your written content on your chosen social media platforms can be smaller snapshots and “in the moment” giving your audience a different view to what they might usually get on your more professional website or blog.
Even though you are sharing some more personal content on social media, participating randomly for the sake of it can be a waste of time. If you are investing your time and effort in building and maintaining a strong online presence and brand, you need to have a visibility strategy for your social media and focus on your expertise/niche.
What to Share on Social Media?
There are lots of different types of content that you can share on social media. For example, you can share:
- original content and communications that you have created just for social media;
- your own content from your blog or website;
- other people’s content (that is relevant to your audience/niche);
- UGC; and
- commentary on trending topics.
