G is for… Goals
G is for… Goals
You should have goals for all your social media activity and this should be a key part of your networking strategy. When you sign up to a social media platform think about why you are signing up and what you want to achieve through using the platform. Having goals can help you measure what your activity and the ROI on your engagement.
For each social media platform you should have a strategy in place for :
- growing your following;
- building and strengthening your personal brand;
- ensuring that you have consistent (and high quality) content;
- boosting / complementing your IRL activities.
Each of your strategies should be paired with defined goals.
For example your goals might include:
- engaging with attendees of a conference or an event before the event to maximise your attendance at the event.
- engaging in a conversation about a service, product or you as an individual.
- getting an introduction to someone
- learning more about a company or organisation.
If you haven’t already done so take some time to set specific goals for your online networking activities.
