Quick Tip: Get a recommendation from your network

Your network is a great resource.

A great way to get extra value from your network of clients or customers is to ask them for a recommendation or testimonial. If they were pleased with the service you offered them don’t be afraid of asking them for a recommendation or testimonial (and permission to use it). You can then use on your blog/website and other marketing materials or social media for some marketing and self-promotion.

You can also shouldn’t be afraid of returning the favour. Providing a recommendation for other people in your network can be a great way to help them out if you have personally used their product or services.

Examples of different types of recommendations and testimonials you could use include:

  • a written testimonial (e.g. a few lines for your website).
  • a video testimonial.
  • online shout out on social media.
  • a LinkedIn Recommendation.
  • attending a seminar or event that you are running and having a quick moment to talk about your services or product.
  • a case study.
