Get rid of the label – stop calling it networking!

Networking is simply meeting and engaging with the people around you. People Everywhere (it doesn’t matter whee)

All of your connections/contacts have some value and any one of them one day might bear fruit. It doesn’t matter if they are a weak connection or a cold connection or where they are on their buying journey – you never know where the value might be.

So don’t get too bogged down in value – simply talking to people and getting to know them (and building relationships with them) can be more rewarding and fulfilling on a personal level and who knows you might learn to enjoy networking more.

Have casual conversations, talk about what interests you and find those common interests and your relationships will deepen and as a consequence you will build your network.
