Getting Ready to Use your Social Media
When you are using Social Media for networking it is important to have some fun but also be professional. It is also important to have a recognisable brand/presence to really make yourself stand out and/or grab attention and be more memorable.
The Social Media Planner includes a section on getting set up on social media and ensuring that all your profiles are up to date, consistent and on message.
There is also a section for designing a social media routine – which is very handy if you want to establish yourself on social media.
The Planner
The next section is
This is the main section and includes:
- monthly overview grid (two-page spread)
- weekly (one page per week)
- to do list (one per month)
- end of month review (two-page spread).
This can be used as a regular diary/planner, but it can also be used to plan your social media content and tie it in with your social media presence.
If you are struggling with planning what to say and what to post on social media the planner can help.
The double layout in the social media planner can provide the space you need to draft and plan your social media content. You can use one half to plan out your week (including networking activities) and then use the second half to plan out the appropriate matching social media content.
You can also use this space to include notes about the appropriate companies to tag and any event hashtags to include in your tweets or posts as well as planning content in and around your events. I also include a reminder to take photographs at events.
Events
The Full version of the Social Media Planner includes an event section.
This can be used to plan out your social media activity for networking at events and seminars, for trying and finding new events, for attending all day conferences and for engaging in online events such as Twitter Chats.
Ideas and Inspiration
The Ideas and Inspiration section includes space to plan your Instagram feed as well as your online activities (including examples of activities (and space to include your own) for the 4 social media platforms. This includes a list of suggested networking activites that you can use and build on.
