N is for… Nametag

Set up your Instagram Nametag

If you’ve ever tried to find someone on Instagram after a networking event and had no luck, only to discover they are using some really random username. The Nametag feature can help with this.

Go to your profile and click on the menu (the three lines). One of the options in the menu is “Nametag”. You can then either scan a Nametag or alternatively customise your own nametag.

To customise your nametag you can click on the top button to select either a colour background, an emoji background, or selfie background. If you are a brand and want to use your logo you can use the selfie option to create a tiled background.

Once your nametag is customised you can then share it. Use the arrow in the top right-hand corner to save the image and/or send to others.

Much like a QR code you can then also use your nametag on promotional materials, business cards etc, then someone just needs to use Instagram or their phone’s camera to scan the nametag and start following you.
