Network Online using Apps
Most people are glued to their phone and using their phone to keep in touch with people often via social media and emails. However, there is another way to network using your phone and that is through the use of Apps specifically designed for networking or which include a networking function for meeting new people.
Personally I have found that the quality of the networking apps depends on who is using them and whether there are a lot of people (that you might actually want to meet) networking in your area using these apps. So I have (so far) found them to have limited success – I’d much rather meet people in person and continue the conversation on social media or hang out on social media.
However, for the right person in the right place – one of these networking apps might be just what you need.
Here are some examples.
01 Bumble (Bizz)
Bumble Bizz is the business/professional networking version of the popular dating app.
02 Hey Vina
Hey! Vina is not specifically a professional networking app, but the aim is to help women meet other women and build friendships and platonic relationships.
03 Shapr
Shapr is a business networking app – again much like a dating app and is designed to help you connect with others who work in your industry.
04 Causr
Again Causr is a business networking app which is location-based and helps you meet people while on the go. Just sign in with your LinkedIn account and you are ready to go.
05 LinkedIn
Finally, LinkedIn’s “find nearby” is worth a mention. Which you can use to find and connect with people while you are out and about.
06 Presso Network
Presso Network reached out to me via instagram. So I decided to check them out. The app focuses on networking opportunities and events as well as connecting with people.
