Quick Tip: New Year, New Hobby?
You can meet people and make connections everywhere. You do not have to be confined to “professional networking events”. It is easier to build a relationship with someone if you have something in common. That is why mutual interests and hobbies are a great way to build a relationship with people and of course to meet new people.
With the brand new year it is easy to be inspired to try something new, to take up a new hobby, to do more exercise, to join the gym etc. However, as with all resolutions it is important to focus on things that you want to do, that you enjoy and have the motivation to commit to.
Starting a new hobby might tick some of those boxes for you (as well as some of your networking goals).
Make a list of all the hobbies you’d be curious to try.
Start by writing a list of the hobbies that you would like to try – these might be sports, they might be evening classes, they might be arts and crafts or even workshops. Something educational. Something fun. Something with others.
