Most people have an aversion to arriving early at an event, but arriving early at a networking event has benefits that make it worthwhile if you can make it early or exactly on time.

For example, it gives you an opportunity to properly meet the hosts and quietly talk with other early arrivers before the crowds, it allows you an opportunity to place yourself strategically in the room, grab a seat, take off your coat and relax etc so that you are mentally ready to network and meet new people.
