Quick Tip: Join the Dots
To get the most out of networking it is important not to just get to know your contacts on a one to one basis but to also join the dots between your contacts and network.
Find the connections between people within your network – who knows who, who works with who, who can help who, who do who need. Map it out and identify where the gaps are in your knowledge, and/or where the gaps are for your network – and how to you can help them plug those gaps or offer your assistance or services.
How well do you know your clients and contacts? If there is useful information that you would like to know but don’t know. Do some research or ask the question to join the dots so that you have a complete picture.
