Quick Tip: Write Concisely and other writing tips…

If you are anything like me you are probably writing more emails to your networking contacts at the moment since you are not seeing them in person. Therefore, we thought we would include some writing tips to make sure your writing skills are not letting you down when it comes to networking.

  • Let’s start off by being concise. Make the email short, concise and specific and actionable.
  • Be personal, include small talk, but avoid unnecessary padding. Sound as if you care. This is why face to face interactions are better, but try and include some personality in your emails as well.
  • Make it about the reader (not you). Use language they understand. Don’t use acronyms. Write for their benefit.
  • Make it look good. Use SpellChecker.
