In my personal view networking plays an important role in both personal and career development. It is an important skill and networking can teach you many things.

Internal networking can also help you on the career development side of things. You can find out things that you wouldn’t know otherwise, you can raise your profile with senior people in the business and of course you will make sure that you are the first person that people think of for your chosen area.

So think about what the role of networking is for you.
