Many powerful moments have their roots in social media.

Tasnim kicked of the Oi Conference talking proudly about Tumblr. I don’t use Tumblr (and i’ve not looked at it in years) but she described it as  a place to talk about things that you are passionate about.  I think of Tumblr as personal blogging. However. if the platform is right for you it is another place that be used to raise your profile.

However, Tasnim highlighted a few things that I had not thought about before and that I thought were worth sharing about Tumblr in case there is any interest:

• Tumblr gives minorities a voice (such as #Blackout).
• Tumblr has a positivity that other social media platforms have lost.
• Tumblr talks about real issues and controversial topics because mum and dad are not hanging out on Tumblr.
• Tumblr breaks down geographic barriers and creates communities.
• Tumblr is full of powerful movements e.g. Global Citizen.
