Social Media Planner: Themes
The use of Key Messages and Themes can be a great way to bring your content together. This should include your social media content as well as any other content that you are producing (such as blog posts).
There a number of ways that you might choose to incorporate “themes” into your content:
01 Use your Key Message as a Theme
You might choose to have one overarching message or theme for all the content that you produce. This might work particualrly well if you are very niche and targeting a very specific audience.
02 Use a monthly theme
I like having a “theme of the month” to build my content around. This usually means that I build all my content around a particular on message theme that I have choose to focus on. For example at the moment on the visibility planner blog we have chosen to write about social media and the social media planner to tie in with our Kickstarter Campaign and Promotions, but in other months we might choose to focus on Networking or Speaking Engagements.
03 Use a Daily Theme / Regular Content
For social media content, you might choose to engage with daily (or weekly) recurring themes for example for a specific day of the week. This might be using widely used themes (or hashtags) for example #mondaymotivation or it might be something you choose yourself to add consistency to your brand on a regular basis (and that your audience knows to look our for) such as round-ups, quick tips etc.
