Enterprise Nation put together a panel where a number of start-ups discussed their use of social media, This included Sidonie Warren (Papersmiths), David O’Coimin (Nook), Alice Cox (Huggg) and Christy Stewart-Smith (Sn-ap). Here are some of the insights shared:
- Take the plunge and approach target brands that you want to work with. Use your personal contacts.
- Taking physical space? Count the footfall and talk to the local traders before taking the space.
- Be a destination.
- Be authentic.
- Ask your customers for advice – what would they like to see? Who would they like you to partner with?
- Use people/customers as your ambassadors and celebrate them on social.
- Capture content as much as possible.
- Use your phone for “right now” content. Build your confidence/get in the habit.
